3 Day Residential Mindfulness Retreat at The Great Mahakala Retreat House
Please join us for our first residential mindfulness retreat! The retreat takes place at the lovely and peaceful Great Mahakala Retreat Center in Miami – Please take a look at their website for pictures and info.
The theme of the retreat is Finding True Refuge – Freedom of Heart and mind through the practices of Insight Meditation, Embodiment and the four heart practices of Loving Kindness (Metta), Compassion (Karuna), Appreciative Joy (Mudita) and Equanimity (Upekka).
During this event there will be a lecture/mindfulness talk, some light guided instruction, gentle mindful movement class, practice support meetings, sound healing class and plenty of time to practice loving-kindness, self-compassion, and mindfulness meditation, through seated, walking, mindful eating and contemplative writing exercises. The retreat begins Friday, the 25th at 4pm and ends Sunday, February 27th at 1pm. We have limited space for those who wish to stay over night at the retreat house and an option for commuters to attend the retreat – there is also a Hampton Inn very close to the retreat house for those not wanting to drive too far.
The rates are as follows:
$500 – 3 day 2 night all inclusive rate (includes accomodations-shared room w/shared bath), chef prepared vegetarian meals, teachings, yoga, sound healing etc.)
$300 – 3 day Commuter – includes all of the above minus accomadations. (for those who would like to stay close to the retreat house there is a Hampton Inn about 1.5 miiles away.)
We will also be taking safety precautions due to Covid-19. We are requiring that all who attend be vaccinated and show proof of vaccination prior to the start of retreat.
