Please join us for our first residential mindfulness retreat! The retreat takes place at the lovely and peaceful Great Mahakala Retreat Center in Miami (Please take a look at their website for pictures and info).
The theme of the retreat is Finding True Refuge – Freedom of Heart and mind through the practices of Insight Meditation, Embodiment and the four heart practices of Loving Kindness (Metta), Compassion (Karuna), Appreciative Joy (Mudita) and Equanimity (Upekka).
During this event there will be a lecture/mindfulness talk, some light guided instruction, gentle mindful movement class, practice support meetings, sound healing class and plenty of time to practice loving-kindness, self-compassion, and mindfulness meditation, through seated, walking, mindful eating and contemplative writing exercises. Registration for the retreat is between 4-5pm on Friday, Sept. 9th. The retreat officially begins at 5pm on Friday and ends at 2pm. There are two rate options at this location as follows:
$675– 3 day 2 night all inclusive rate (accomodations-shared room w/shared bath, chef prepared vegetarian meals, teachings, yoga, sound healing etc.)
$475– 3 day Commuter – includes all of the above minus accomadations. (for those who would like to stay close to the retreat house, there is a Hampton Inn approximately 1.5 miiles away.)
