    February 25th-27th, 2022 Residential Mindfulness Retreat

    3 Day Residential Mindfulness Retreat at The Great Mahakala Retreat House

    Please join us for our first residential mindfulness retreat! The retreat takes place at the lovely and peaceful Great Mahakala Retreat Center in Miami – Please take a look at their website for pictures and info.

    The theme of the retreat is Finding True Refuge – Freedom of Heart and mind through the practices of Insight Meditation, Embodiment and the four heart practices of Loving Kindness (Metta), Compassion (Karuna), Appreciative Joy (Mudita) and Equanimity (Upekka).

    During this event there will be a lecture/mindfulness talk, some light guided instruction, gentle mindful movement class, practice support meetings, sound healing class and plenty of time to practice loving-kindness, self-compassion, and mindfulness meditation, through seated, walking, mindful eating and contemplative writing exercises.  PLEASE REGISTER ON EVENTBRITE ASAP to save your space.Donations to the teachers for their time, guidance, and sharing is greatly appreciated and can be made at paypal.me/wbmindfulness.

    The retreat begins Friday, the 25th at 4pm and ends Sunday, February 27th at 1pm. We have limited space for those who wish to stay over night at the retreat house and an option for commuters to attend the retreat – there is also a Hampton Inn very close to the retreat house for those not wanting to drive too far.

    The rates are as follows:

    $500 – 3 day 2 night all inclusive rate (includes accomodations-shared room w/shared bath), chef prepared vegetarian meals, teachings, yoga, sound healing etc.)

    $300 – 3 day Commuter – includes all of the above minus accomadations. (for those who would like to stay close to the retreat house there is a Hampton Inn about 1.5 miiles away.)

    We will also be taking safety precautions due to Covid-19. We are requiring that all who attend be vaccinated and show proof of vaccination prior to the start of retreat.

    Sunday Weekly Mindfulness Meditation Circle

    Sunday Weekly Mindfulness Meditation Circle – Please join us for our weekly Sunday mindfulness meditation group, from 11am-12:45pm on line via Zoom (click on link above) as we explore the many positive benefits of this peaceful and grounding practice. There will be basic instruction, a dharma talk on a topic related to mindfulness and a mindful inquiry period. During this group we learn to: * Alleviate stress and suffering by developing your capacity to stay in the present. * Open to the breath, body and emotions through guided meditations. * Cultivate the healing and connecting power of opening your heart to life, love and experience, through Compassion and Loving Kindness.     A Day of Mindfulness

    A Day of Mindfulness – This event takes place on a Bi-Monthly basis. The next event will probably take place in April and the date will be updated.

    This is a teacher led event with short Dharma talks and 20-30 minute intervals of formal seated, walking, eating and Loving Kindness Meditation. We end with period of mindful inquiry and sharing encouraging all to ask questions, comments or share their experience of the practice. Beginning to experienced meditators are welcome.

    This is an opportunity to experience these transformative and healing practices with others in an online class setting. There will be 6 consecutive meetings (unless otherwise noted) Wednesdays from 6:30pm – 8:00pm and each session consists of short lectures, videos, interactive exercises, guided meditations and ends with a period of mindful inquiry. There are practices assigned in between sessions to help build the skills of Mindfulness and Compassion. The course includes a half day free Day of Mindfulness Event on a Saturday.
